Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a quick look at the tailor-made rail bimini top attachment point. This creates a nice spot to attach any of your bimini components on your boat to a railing, so this is just a nice attachment point for that. As you can see, it is a nice, sturdy stainless steel construction, so we shouldn't have any issues with rust or corrosion. It's just going to clamp around that rail, and then it has the bolt up there to hold on your attachment point.
You can undo both of these screws; this one just takes a Phillips head screwdriver for that attachment, and then to attach it to your rail, it's a little thumb screw, but you could also use a five millimeter allen wrench, or, if you have inaudible 00:00:54, metric of three-sixteens will usually fit in there too.It is a hinge design; it's just going to clamp around that railing. It can fit around a 1" boat rail, and then you can tighten that back down. Only one side of this is threaded, so keep that in mind for attaching your things back up. There also a set screw on the back here, so you can make sure that it doesn't turn or move. It should bite into the metal pretty well; it's got a little point there to grab into the railing and hold fast.
Then you can put your support pole I through here and secure it with that bolt.You can also use this to mount a fender rack, or any kind of other accessory. As far as the overall size, it's about 2 1/2" inches tall and about 1 1/4" wide. With it all the way clamped like this, it's about an 1 1/4" thick.
